Web App Domain Setting on the Lendsqr admin console

A domain is the address that people use to access a particular website on the internet. In this case, your web app domain refers to the address that your users use to access your web app and apply for your available loan offers.

When you sign up on the admin console, a default web app is created for you by Lendsqr. It comprises your company short name and the Lendsqr domain i.e “shortname.lsq.app”

A domain name is important because it is the key to a web app's online identity and helps people find and remember the web app easily.

Changing your Web app domain name

On the Lendsqr admin console, you can change your web app domain from the default domain created for you by Lendsqr to a custom domain that better represents your business.

In order to use a domain name for your web app, it must be registered with a domain registrar and then pointed to the IP address of the web server where the web app domain is hosted.

It is important to note that domain adjustments are not feasible for accounts on the Free Plan. They are exclusively available to lenders on the Starter plan and above. View our subscription plans

To change your web app domain, kindly follow the steps below:

  1. On the Lendsqr admin console, navigate to “Preferences” and select “Domain Customization

  1. Click on the “Add a new domain” button.

  1. Input your domain name and click on “Add Domain”.
Kindly note that in the root domain field, input your company’s domain. For example “lendsqr.com”.
In the sub domain field, input your subdomain name. For example “app” (this only applies if you wish to use a subdomain).
The web app domain will then be “
app.lendsqr.com”. However, if there is no subdomain, it will be www.lendsqr.com.

The domain you have just added will reflect on the admin console, however, it will have a “pending validation” status.

  1. Next, click on the “Refresh Status” button to view the details of the domain you have just added. You will also be able to view a guide of how to add the DNS record for different domain hosts.

  2. When you can view the details of the domain on the admin console, copy the “Resource record” and the “Resource record value” and paste it in your website DNS provider.

  3. Once this has been set up in your DNS provider, click the “Refresh Status” button on the admin console to update the details of the domain.

  4. Next click on the “Link Domain" button and the Resource record value” on the newly added domain will be updated on the admin console. You can now copy the “Resource record” and the “Resource record value” of the sub domain (i.e app) and add another DNS record for the same domain.

  5. Kindly note the below when updating the sub domain DNS record:
    Type: CNAME
    Name: The subdomain (i.e app)

Target: Your domain (i.e lendsqr.com)
Please note that this step is only applicable when you wish to use a subdomain.

  1. Once this has been done successfully, your domain will be updated to an active status and ready for use. The previous domain you had (shortname.lsq.app) will also be deactivated.
